Quebec Championships 2010

42 Wimgym gymasts took part in the Québec Championships in Charny from April 23 to 25, 2010 winning 18 gold medals, 16 silver and 14 bronze. Laurie Dénommée, Marilou Banville, Hayley Blake and Béatrice Quirion are Québec Champions in Argo 3, Tyro 5, Tyro 3 and Novice 3 respectively.


Argo 3 All Around: 1st Laurie Dénommée, 2nd Chloé Viel, 5th Stéphania DeMelo

Highlights for the all around totals are: Jessica Scaglione fifth in Argo 2;  Chloé Viel second, Stefania De Melo fifth and Ariane Labrie eigth in Argo 3; Claudine Tremblay third and Kiana Lemieux fifth in Tyro 2;   Maude Lebeau third, Audrey Lévesque fifth, Lucy Gong sixth and Amanda Diallutto-Perez seveth in Tyro 3 (5 of the top 7); Maria Guirguis sixth place in Tyro 5; Brittany Teo third and Kyra Carleton fifth in Novice 3; Courtney Coulter in Senior 3; Lauren Belvedere second in Senior 4; Olivia Hannan second in Novice 5.

At the Novice National level, Samantha Poirier ranked fifth and won gold on the floor exercise. In Open Senior, Katerina Jirasek finished sixth and was awarded the gold medal on balance beam, Dayna Goldman finished eigth, Alexandra Liakakos, Joelle Comeau and Shanice Ménard-Joseph also participated in this high level championship.
 
Sabrina Tomassini participated in the Québec Championships at the National Junior High Performance level. She was a non-contending athlete as she had previously qualified for the Canadian Championships.
 
Congratulations to all gymnasts that proudly represented Wimgym at the 2010 Québec Championship! Good Luck to those representing Quebec at the Canadian Eastern Championships in Hamilton ON and the Canadian Championship in Kamloops BC.
