Eastern Canadian Championships 2010

May 5-7, 2010

Eastern Canadian Championships were held in Mississauga ON from May 5th to May 7th.  Seven gymnasts from Wimgym were part of the Quebec Team.  Head coach Natalie Turner and coach François Lefebvre were leading these outstanding gymnasts.

Three of them competed in Tyro 3.  Hayley Blake ranked 3rd at the bars and at the beam and finished 4th on the all around total.  Maude Lebeau ranked 4th at the bars, 5th at the beam while taking the 5th place on the all around.  Audrey Lévesque placed 5th at the vault and at the bars and finished 8th on the all around.

Béatrice Quirion and Brittany Teo took part in the Championships as Novice 3.  Béatrice was 5th at the vault and 6th in both beam and floor exercice which gave her the 4th place in total.  Brittany was 3rd on bars and 4th on the floor and finished 7th on the all around total.

In Tyro 5, Marilou Banville helped the Quebec Team winning the class over Ontario.  Marilou won silver at the vault, placed 4th at the bars and the beam, 5th at the floor exercice.  These results earned her the bronze medal for the events total.

Olivia Hannan competed in Novice 5.  She won two bronze medals:  at vault and at bars while placing 4th at both balance beam and floor exercice.  She won the silver medal for her total score.

The best ranking Quebec athlete in each one of the four categories where Wimgym athletes competed were from Wimgym.
